Jennie L. McLean

Administrative Assistant

Jennie is a Doyon, Limited shareholder and past Doyon Foundation scholarship recipient born in Tanana and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska. She is the daughter of the late Richard McLean from Michigan and Mary McLean from Nulato, Alaska. Jennie’s paternal grandparents are Eldren and Vera McLean. Her maternal grandparents are Frederick Stickman Sr. of Nulato and Jennie Cleaver Stickman of Koyukuk. Jennie has one son, Happy McLean and two siblings; Angela Ludwick and the late Terry McLean.

Jennie holds both an associate degree, a bachelor’s degree and has completed extensive training in fields such as food safety, business management, leadership, and wildfire coordination. She has been recognized for her contributions to the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program and has certifications in culinary arts, electrical estimating, small business development, and youth advocacy.

Her diverse work experience spans culinary roles on the North Slope and in remote camps, managing her family’s electrical business, substitute teaching, cultural education, and administrative roles in special education and outreach programs. She has also worked as a dispatcher, timekeeper, and FEMA support for wildfire services and in aviation for Mark Air Airlines.

Passionate about youth leadership and career development, Jennie actively volunteers in her community. In her free time, she enjoys hosting sewing circles, berry picking, moose hunting, camping, boating, attending sporting events—especially basketball—and spending time with others.
