Jenny Johnson
Hometown: Northway, AK
Jenny Johnson is a proud graduate of the University of Alaska Fairbanks and UAF Community & Technical College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Healthcare Management and completed her LPN certification. Originally from Northway, Jenny’s journey into healthcare began as a village health aide, where she discovered a passion for providing compassionate, accessible care in rural communities. That experience led her to pursue further clinical training as a Certified Medical Assistant and eventually an LPN, blending her hands-on knowledge with leadership and administrative skills.
Jenny’s long-term goal is to take on a leadership role in healthcare—bridging the gap between frontline care and system-wide decision-making, especially in underserved areas. She continues to build her credentials with certifications in healthcare leadership and patient coordination.
In addition to her professional and academic pursuits, Jenny is a CDL-B license holder, a volunteer in rural communities, and an advocate for Native health equity. In her free time, she enjoys berry picking, fishing, and spending time outdoors with her family.
Jenny credits the Doyon Foundation and Northway Village Council for helping make her educational goals a reality through scholarship support.
Her advice to fellow students? “Don’t give up. Stay focused, stay organized, and always remember why you started.”
