Competitive Awards
Available Opportunities
Competitive Awards are for degree-seeking students enrolled full-time at an accredited college, university, technical or vocational school. Awards range from $8,500 for undergraduates, to $10,500 for graduates, to $12,500 for doctorate students. Funds are awarded once per year; half is distributed for the fall semester and half for the spring semester. The Competitive Award has additional application requirements, and recipients are selected through a review and scoring process by an independent committee.
Eligibility
To be eligible for a Doyon Foundation scholarship, applicants must:
•Be enrolled to Doyon, Limited or be the child of an original enrollee. If the applicant is not an original enrollee, but is the child of an original shareholder, a copy of an original birth certificate is required for verification. Gifted or inherited shares do not qualify an individual for scholarship eligibility.
•Be accepted to an accredited college, university, technical or vocational school.
•Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 for undergraduates, 3.0 for graduates or masters, and 3.25 for specialists or doctorates.
•Be enrolled in 12 or more credits (undergraduates), or 9 or more credits (graduates) to be considered full-time students.
•Applicants cannot be recipients of multiple scholarships simultaneously.
What do I need to apply?
Unofficial Transcripts from the last school attended are required with each application. Final grades will need to be submitted once a term has ended and the student has applied for the next term.
How Do I apply?
Note that first-time applicants will need to create a new account, and that it can take up to three business days to verify a student’s shareholder status.
