Workforce Development

Workforce Development at Doyon Foundation
In 2023, Doyon Foundation was awarded a grant to launch its first workforce development program. By April 2024, a dedicated, full time staff member joined the team to lead this initiative in partnership with Doyon, Limited, focusing on delivering impactful, community-centered results.
Our workforce development efforts are designed to support shareholders in pursuing meaningful, rewarding, and well-paying careers. Through personalized assistance, we help individuals connect with education, training, and employment opportunities that align with their goals.
We’re actively involved in job fairs, collaborate with local programs and organizations, and maintain strong, one-on-one engagement with shareholders. Outreach is at the heart of our approach—we’re not only promoting available resources but also building lasting partnerships that strengthen our region’s workforce.
We’re proud of the connections we’ve made and excited about what’s ahead.

Workforce Development Survey
Before launching our next workforce initiative, Doyon Foundation prioritized hearing directly from those we serve. On August 9, 2024, we introduced our first Workforce Development Survey to better understand the economic landscape, identify career support needs, and gather honest feedback from Doyon, Limited shareholders. To ensure accessibility, the survey was offered through multiple formats, making it easy for everyone to participate.
See SurveyWith over 1,300 responses submitted, the results provided valuable insights into shareholder priorities and workforce challenges. In October 2024, our team presented the findings to the Doyon Foundation Board during committee and Board of Directors meetings. Every response was carefully reviewed, and this feedback now plays a central role in shaping our workforce development strategy moving forward.
