WHEN: Approx. 21 weeks, beginning September 2009. Start and end dates are flexible. Work schedule will be Monday – Friday.

WHERE: AnchorageMuseum at RasmusonCenter, in beautiful Anchorage, Alaska.

WHAT: This position has the responsibility to implement a series of improvements in the current storage of objects in the AnchorageMuseum’s permanent collection. The duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

– Work directly with the Collections Manager and the Object Conservator in the safe handling and movement of collections objects to new storage units.
– Design and create storage mounts to support art and ethnographic objects using archival material.
– Enter data accurately and efficiently into the museum database.

WHO:
– Applicants must be at least 18
– High school graduate, GED or equivalent.
– Higher education courses in History, Art, Anthropology or a related field is preferred.
– Working knowledge of computers and commonly used programs, such as Excel, Word and Outlook.
