The Alaska Council of School Administrators is accepting applications for the Executive Director position through January 31, 2010.

The council is a nonprofit tax-exempt corporation. It serves as the umbrella for four educational leadership organizations: Alaska Association of School Administrators, Alaska Association of

Elementary School Principals, Alaska Association of Secondary School Principals, and Alaska association of School Business Officials.

The Alaska Staff Development Network is a major division of the council. Working through a statewide partnership, ASDN focuses on helping Alaska’s teachers and administrators meet their professional growth needs. Most of the programs offered by the council are funded by grants or contracts.

The Executive Director of the council also will serve as Executive Director of the Alaska Association of School Administrators. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable about public education in Alaska and the legislative process, be a skilled writer and communicator, and have administrative experience in a public school setting in Alaska.
