This 3-week class consists of 4 days of classroom training and 11 days behind-the-wheel/vehicle training, and is intended to provide basic skills for drivers in the construction industry where much of the driving is off road. On road skills are also taught, and the CDL test is administered on the road.

– Equipment: Class A & B CDL Trucks and Trailers

– Certifications: Class A CDL

– Prerequisites: Be at least 19 years of age, Have a clean driving record (for the past 2 years), Provide a DMV full (10 year) driver history (obtained no more than 30 days prior to training), Pass a DOT physical (physical is usually valid for 2 years), Pass a DOT drug test (cannot be done more than 10 days prior to training start date), Provide a copy of AK Driver’s license (valid Class D license for a minimum of ONE year), Provide a copy of Social Security card (or verification letter from social security administration)

TUITION: $ 5,500.00

FEES: $ 140.00 (Anchorage/IA permit, road test, license) / $115.00 (Fairbanks/IA permit, license)

Room/Board/Transportation, DOT physical/drug screen:, and TSA fee NOT included in the above costs – student is responsible for these additional costs and arrangements.

PLEASE NOTE: For the student who plans on making professional driving a career, CEE recommends taking our 6-week Professional Truck Driver Institute (PTDI) certified course. The PTDI course satisfies the training standards of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
