On behalf of Alaska Village Initiatives, Inc. (AVI), The CIRI Foundation is proud to offer the 2010 Howard Rock Scholarship.

Eligible applicants for the Howard Rock Foundation Scholarship are:

1) Alaska Natives who are original enrollees or direct lineal descendants of original enrollees (natural born or legally adopted) of a regional/village corporation pursuant to the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA) <<OR>>

2) Alaska Natives who are members of a tribal/other Native organization.

Note: The ANCSA regional/village corporation or tribal/other Native organization MUST be a current member of Alaska Village Initiatives, Inc. (AVI). Applicants must also be unconditionally and fully accepted as a full-time student in either a four-year undergraduate or graduate degree program for the 2010-2011 academic year. Subject to available funding, two (2) undergraduate scholarships for $2,500, each, and one (1) graduate scholarship for $5,000 will be awarded.

The application deadline is March 31, 2010 (11:59pm Alaska time). Applications must be received on or before the deadline to be considered. This is not a postmark deadline.
