The First Alaskan Institute Summer Internship Program is a paid 10 week internship from early June to mid-August. The program is provided primarily through a grant from the Denali Commission. Internship placements are available throughout Alaska.

Interns will unite for a 5 day orientation at the beginning and again at the end of the internship. Interns will also be provided with concentrated leadership development training every other Friday during the summer program. Web casting and web conferencing will be utilized on leadership Friday’s for interns not located in Anchorage.

Recruitment: November 2009 – March 9, 2010

Internship Program: June 7 – August 13, 2010
Basis for Selection:

Students who are Alaska Native/Rural Alaskan, in good academic standing, and will be a college junior, senior or graduate student in the fall are welcome to apply. First Alaskans Institute and employer placement representatives will screen complete application packets. Interns will be required to follow the Human Resource policies set forth by the organization in which they are placed; these policies may include drug and alcohol testing
