The Program in American Indian Community Health (PAICH) at the University of Kansas Medical Center is currently recruiting American Indian/Alaska Native students who are interested in attaining a Masters of Public Health degree and breast cancer research. The scholarship requires the student to be enrolled in the KUMC MPH program and includes full tuition and fees, paid research assistantship, professional development, and use of a laptop. Funding may be provided for two years granted student maintains satisfactory academic status and progression towards degree completion. Students will be expected to conduct breast cancer research as a part of their degree and will be provided a faculty mentor to help them. In order to be considered, students must meet the following requirements:
• Successful completion of bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
• Submit completed KU Graduate School Application
• Submit completed KU-MPH Application
• Personal Statement
• Resume/CV
• 2 official copies of all undergraduate and graduate transcripts
• Standardized test scores less than 7 years old (GRE, GMAT, LSAT, OAT, MCAT or USMLE Steps 1 &2).
• One semester of College Algebra or Calculus
• 3 letters of recommendation with recommendation forms
• $35.00 application fee made payable to KUMC
Deadline date is July 1, 2010.
