Deben Das, NAMI of Fairbanks Board Member, has completed paperwork to add a third  NAMI Scholarship, specifically for UAF Rural Campus Students and a forth Graduate Student Scholarship. This is in addition to the Joy Albin Memorial Scholarship and the Ann Denardo Memorial Scholarship currently being offered at UAF.

The purpose of the Joy Albin Memorial Scholarship, the Ann Denardo Memorial Scholarship, the UAF Rural Campus Student Scholarship and the Graduate Student Scholarship is to provide scholarships to part-time or full-time undergraduate in any field of study at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks or at the UAF Community & Technical College.

First Preference: is given to those who have been treated for a serious mental illness.

Second Preference: to student in any field of study who are interested in education, advocacy and the removal of stigma regarding mental illness; particularly those majoring the disciplines of counseling, psychology, social work or similar fields, and who intended to serve those living with mental illness.

Third Preference: is to mental health providers working in the community who need more education for their certification.  

There is: (1) Joy Albin Memorial Scholarship of $1000.00, (1) Ann Denardo Memorial Scholarship of $1000.00, (1) UAF Rural Campus Student Scholarship and (1) Graduate Student Scholarship of $1000.00 to be awarded each year.
