Spirit of Youth is seeking a Program Assistant who will provide administrative support, program promotion and planning assistance while serving as a supportive, caring adult in the lives of youth.
Spirit of Youth is dedicated to creating, promoting and recognizing youth involvement in communities across Alaska. Spirit of Youth began in 1997 as a media-based project to address the growing negative image of teenagers. Since then, thousands of positive stories about Alaskan youth have been shared through television, radio and local newspapers. Nominations are made by anyone wishing to recognize a hard-working, inspiring young person or group of teens. Each year, Spirit of Youth receives up to 200 nominations from over 50 Alaska communities. The nomination process culminates in a celebratory dinner honoring the 22 individuals and groups who ultimately receive the top honors in their respective award categories.
