Below is a job description for the BP Well Site Specialist positions of which Beacon is currently hiring. Please keep in mind that the minimum requirements is 1 year working experience on an active drilling, work over, completion, or coil rig, as well a VERY strong emphasis on computer skills. On top of being the point of contact for all operations on a drill pad the individuals will be the the Company Man’s right hand man so to speak. Job Description
Well Site Control Specialist
Responsibilities

  • Works closely with Company’s Well Site Leader to manage site control and prevent accidents
  • Day and night shift positions cover the well site 24/7
  • Single point of contact for all entries on to the well site
  • Collect and maintain contact information from entrants and inform visitors/workers of current site operations , well layout and muster points, HSE and PPE requirements, Drill Rig eyewash & first aid stations, evacuation routes, tie in points for equipment and other pertinent information.
  • Work directly with truck pushers, cement supervisors, slickline units, e-line units, and other service units to assist the incoming vehicles and equipment with tasks such as spotting and parking.
  • Participate in planning and operations meetings
  • Maintain SIMOPS plan
  • Facilitate well site snow removal
  • Attend pre rig move meeting with Roads & Pads
  • Monitor well site conditions and inform the Well Site Leader of inadequate scarifying, sanding, & housekeeping on the pad.
  • Assist in entering operations data into the Company’s electronic reporting system
  • Track costs and provide efficient cost and performance management
  • Check and verify entrant’s training credentials
  • Check certification of all equipment
  • Inform entrants of location and use of escape air packs
  • Perform Safety Observations & Conversations
  • Assure compliance with applicable codes, standards and regulations relative to health safety and environmental protection.

Capabilities

  • Possess excellent communication skills
  • Be willing and able to stop work when unsafe conditions or actions are identified
  • Be proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Experience with DIMS or Open Wells programs preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year drilling rig experience or previous site control experience
  • Be familiar with drilling/completion/workover operations in order to advise site entrants of current operations and the corresponding policies and procedures necessary to safely perform operations.
Required Job Qualifications:
