Below is a list of events sponsored by the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District Alaska Native Education Program:
Sept. 1 – Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) meeting at 5:30 in room 341 at the School District Building (light refreshments). Come be a part of impacting what ANE does in the schools!
Sept. 15 – Elections Potluck at 5:30 at Ryan Middle School. We will be voting on 3 PAC positions. Any ANE parent of a student in the FNSBSD can fill out the form to nominated themselves. We will have editors available for students who would like help on their essay for President Obama’s challenge for AI and AN youth to submit what they’ve done as a far as leadership in their community. This is open for people ages 13-25 years old.
Oct. 6 – PAC meeting 5:30pm in room 341 at School District Building. (light refreshments)
Oct. 14 – Leadership Discussion at Denakkanaga at 3:30pm (light refreshments). Poetry submissions are due by this date. This is open to middle school and high school students. This is a chance to ask questions about how you can achieve your goals and dreams.
Nov. 2 – Literacy night for K-12 with a POETRY contest for 7-12. Poetry finalists read at the Lit. night. Held at Noel Wein Library from 6pm-7pm. For K-6 we have a guest reader who will be reading a story with Rory, her dog. There will be pizza and juice as well as crafts/coloring going on.
Nov. 3 – PAC meeting 5:30pm in room 341 at School District Building. (light refreshments)
Nov. 17th – Potluck, location is TBD, with more information coming soon.
