This message is a reminder that December 14, 2012 is the final day of the extended application window to be considered for an Alaska Performance Scholarship (APS) award for the 2012-2013 academic year. APS-eligible students must file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for every year in which they plan to use an APS award.

If you are an APS-eligible Class of 2011 or 2012 graduate and have not yet filed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) – the application for the APS – you can file directly at www.fafsa.ed.gov. If you have already filed the FAFSA, you can view the status of your application via the Alaska Student Aid Portal, accessible at APS.alaska.gov. If you are a private school or privately home-schooled student you need to submit the APS Eligibility Determination Request Form found at APS.alaska.gov in addition to filing the FAFSA.

Note: The 2013-2014 FAFSA (the first FAFSA current high school seniors should plan to file) will become available in January 2013. Students should file it as soon as possible in 2013, but no later than June 30.
