The NeighborWorks Training Institute is pleased to partner with First Nations Oweesta Corporation to offer five days of training at the NeighborWorks Training Institute May 6-10, 2013 in Portland, Oregon. This specialized training is designed to build the capacity of Native practitioners through IDA development training, and strengthen Native communities through the exploration of designing comprehensive asset-building strategies for Native communities. A limited number of full scholarships are available for eligible organizations to attend this training. Use the scholarship code “CDFIOR13” where it says “Enter Scholarship Code”. The deadline for scholarship applications is Friday, March 1, 2013.

  1. Go to www.nw.org/scholarships
  2. If you have not applied for a scholarship at the NeighborWorks America scholarship website before, please click on ‘Create Account’ at the top of the page. After you have established an account, proceed to step 3
  3. Log in using your account e-mail address and password
  4. Click on ‘View Schedule of Events’
  5. Under ‘Schedule of Training Events’ find Portland NTI – NeighborWorks Training Institute – 2013 and click on ‘Apply’
  6. On the event page find the scholarship that is called ‘Oweesta Native CDFI NTI Scholarship’ and click ‘Learn More’
  7. Click on ‘Apply for Scholarship’
  8. Request your courses and support (tuition, lodging and travel)
  9. Be sure to use the scholarship code CDFIOR13 where it says ‘Enter Scholarship Code
  10. When complete, click on ‘Send Application’
  11. You will receive an e-mail verification of your application submittal

Scholarship opportunities covers tuition to both Oweesta Native-based courses, or one Native class and one other class of your choice, airfare and hotel.
