Thanks to generous support from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, ATALM now has scholarship funds to help tribal members who are engaged in language programs attend the International Conference of Indigenous Archives, Libraries, and Museums in Washington, DC — September 9-15, 2015.
Applicants who partner with archives, libraries, or museums receive priority. Applicants may request funding for conference registration fees, shared lodging, and a travel stipend. June 15 is the deadline for applying, with announcements made on or before July 1. Scholarship applications are available at http://atalm.formstack.com/forms/language_scholarship
ATALM 2015 language programs are offered in partnership with several federal agencies, including the White House Initiative for American Indian and Alaska Native Education, the Department of Health and Human Services’ Administration for Native Americans, the Department of Interior’s Bureau of Indian Education, the National Endowment for the Humanities, the National Science Foundation, the Institute of Museum and Library Services, and the Library of Congress Folklife Center. The goal of the expanded programming is to build relationships between ALMS and tribal language programs.
