Barry Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Foundation  will award up to $7500/year to undergraduate science and mathematics students for their last one to two years of undergraduate study.  There are awards in two categories: two-year scholarships to those who will be juniors, and one-year scholarships to those who will be seniors.

Applicants must be planning a career in science or mathematics, have at least a B average, and be a US citizen, resident alien, or US national.   The application process has two steps.   First, there will be an internal review process, after which up to 4 students will be officially nominated for the scholarship.  Second, the Barry Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Foundation will select approximately 300 applicants nationwide.  The UAF faculty representative is responsible for nominating students and mailing in the supporting documents, so applicants should stay in contact with the faculty representative throughout the application process.
