A few internships Alaska youth might be interested in applying for. It would be great to get Alaska Native youth involved and ready to enter the federal workforce to manage Alaska’s Public Lands.
1. Mosaics in Science Internships closes 1/31/16
http://www.mosaicsinscience.org/internships/
It’s a great opportunity for young professionals in science and outreach fields to get a foot in the door with the Park Service.
Location:
Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park, Skagway, AK–Restoration Technician $4,800
Denali National Park and Preserve, McKinley Village, AK–Soundscape Technician $4,800
Kenai Fjords National Park, Seward, AK–GIS/Climate Change Science $4,800
2. Business Plan Internship closes 1/11/16
This is a very prestigious internship that comes with a “Direct Hire Authority” upon completion, which means NPS, BLM, and FWS can pick these graduates up non-competitively for up to two years after they finish their Masters program and the internship.
Many of your Parks have had BPI interns and I don’t believe any of them have been from Alaska. The intent of the BPI program is to attract a highly qualified diverse applicant pool. If you know of current graduate student please share.
