Alaskans have only a couple weeks left to file for their 2016 PFDs – and Pick. Click. Give. to their favorite nonprofit! The deadline to apply for the 2016 PFD is March 31.
Support students when you Pick. Click. Give to Doyon Foundation!
As of mid-February, both PFD filings and Pick. Click. Give. donations were down slightly. Of the 560,000 Alaskans expected to apply for a PFD, only about 310,000 had so far. The total dollars donated through Pick. Click. Give. as well as the participation rate were also down slightly from last year.
Unfortunately, Doyon Foundation is seeing a similar trend. In 2015, a total of 75 Alaskans contributed $5,375 to Doyon Foundation through Pick. Click. Give. As of February 1 of this year, the Foundation had received 25 pledges totaling $2,050.
Alaskans have the opportunity to support the education and success of the next generation by Pick. Click. Giving to Doyon Foundation. Established by Doyon, Limited in 1989, the Foundation is dedicated to its mission to provide educational, career and cultural opportunities to enhance the identity and quality of life for Doyon shareholders. During the 2014 – 2015 academic year, the Foundation awarded a total of 565 scholarships totaling $465,237.
As Foundation student Joseph Bifelt shared with donors at the 2015 scholarship award ceremony, “With your help, anything is possible.” Bifelt, a Doyon Foundation competitive scholarship recipient, is a student at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, where he is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in secondary education.
“Growing up in the village, I witnessed many teachers come and go. They did not necessarily understand our culture and who we were. I feel that I would be able to relate very well to the rural Alaskan students and have the ability to help them build brighter futures both for themselves and their community,” Bifelt said.

Those who have already completed the PFD application can easily add a Pick. Click. Give. donation by clicking the “add or change your Pick. Click. Give. donation” on the PFD homepage.
