The Doyon Foundation journey doesn’t end with graduation! We are so proud of our alumni, the amazing places they have gone on to, the achievements they are making, and the positive differences they are having in their communities. Each month, we will feature an update on one of our alumni. This month, we are pleased to highlight Sierra Evans Leblanc.
Schools: Grand Canyon University (undergraduate) and Pepperdine University (graduate)
Degrees: Bachelor’s in Finance and Economics, and Master’s in Clinical Psychology with an Emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy
Year graduated: 2016 (undergrad), 2020 (graduate)
What are you doing now? Currently, I am working toward my licensure as a marriage and family therapist. I should be done with the hours and exams and be licensed the early part of 2022. I have a full practice of 27 clients and am loving what I do.
My hope and goal is to continue to normalize conversation around mental health within our community. Too often we wait too long to mention it out of fear of judgement. I am attending workshops and continuing to learn how to better help our community.
Anything else you would like to share? Doyon Foundation has been instrumental in my educational journey. I am grateful to have been able to go to graduate school and learn more about what I am passionate about.
Are you a former Doyon Foundation scholarship recipient who has graduated? We would love to hear from you! Please reach out to [email protected] or 907.459.2049.
