Doyon Foundation is reopening the application window for 2022 Our Language grants to allow time for additional organizations to apply for funding for language revitalization projects. Grant proposals will be accepted until Monday, March 7, at 5 p.m. AKST. Applicants may access the online application on the Doyon Foundation website. Please note that applicants who already submitted a 2022 proposal do not need to reapply.

The Foundation will award grants of up to $5,000 to support local language revitalization projects in 2022. We encourage applications for projects that support the strategic direction of our language program, including youth and Elder collaboration, and the utilization of our Doyon Languages Online program in classrooms or community learning groups. Learn more about our language revitalization program on our website.

Doyon region tribal governments/tribal councils/communities; nonprofit Alaska Native organizations, societies and community groups; and Alaska Native cultural, educational and recreational organizations/centers are eligible to apply for an Our Language grant. Learn more about eligibility and proposal requirements on the application webpage.

Online applications are strongly preferred; interested applicants should complete the online application at www.doyonfoundation.com. If internet or computer access is unavailable, applicants may request a hard copy application by contacting [email protected] or 907.459.2048.
