The Joint Science and Technology Institute (JSTI) is a two-week residential research program that provides high school students the opportunity to conduct research in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) under the mentorship of a Department of Defense (DoD) scientist. Research topics for JSTI 2015 may include: Water Analysis, 3D Printing, Forensics Analysis, Computer Modelling, Raspberry Pi, Arduino Microprocessors, and Microbiology. Students with GPAs above 2.0 are encouraged to apply. JSTI is sponsored by the Defense Threat Reducation Agency (DTRA).
This is a residential program in Maryland and students must be able to be in residence with the group and attend all days and all activities. Students must be at least 16 years of age and at least in the 10th grade. Lodging, meals, and travel within the continental United States (CONUS) is provided by JSTI.
All applicants must be U.S. Citizens.
