The Middle School Partnership Project is recruiting 8 AmeriCorps Members statewide, sponsored by your local middle school, Department of Education, and the Rural Alaska Community Action Program (RurAL CAP). The remaining 4 Middle School Success AmeriCorps Member positions include Ryan Middle School – Fairbanks, North Pole Middle School – North Pole, Gruening Middle School – Eagle River and Mears Middle School, Anchorage.

Examples of what Middle School Success AmeriCorps Members could do: Coordinate community conversations about helping students succeed, engage community partners in the school, coordinate school volunteers, strengthen parent involvement, engage students in community service, provide/organize after-school tutoring or mentoring, promote sports, arts, subsistence skills activities, coordinate peer education projects, or track progress on project goals.
AmeriCorps Member Benefits include: $1,200/month living allowance, $5,375 education award upon completion of service year, health insurance if eligible, child care if eligible, specialized training, and accommodation for people experiencing a handicap
