2011 LOGO ART CONTEST
The 2011 Festival of Native Arts will be held March 3-5, 2011 at the University of Alaska Fairbanks in Fairbanks, Alaska. We invite all artists to submit their ideas for the 2011 logo of the Festival of Native Arts. You just need to follow the guidelines for your submission.
Guidelines for submissions:
· Artwork must be no larger than 8”x10”
· The artwork must express this year’s theme, “Tradition, Wisdom, and Ingenuity.” Both contemporary and traditional styles of artwork are welcome.
· Artwork must be pen and ink or pencil, on white background.
· All submissions due by Friday, December 17, 2010
Submissions may be delivered to 315 Brooks Building, University of Alaska Fairbanks or mailed to University of Alaska, Department of Alaska Native Studies and Rural Development, Festival of Native Arts, P.O. Box 756300, Fairbanks, AK 99775-6300. Any questions can be directed to the Festival Office at 907-474-6889.
Winner will have their logo on the Festival programs, t-shirts, and other publicity materials. Winner will receive a complimentary Festival shirt with your artwork on it! Winner can also receive 1 UAF undergraduate credit (estimated maximum value = $170 Credit will need to be used this year).
Mission of Festival of Native Arts:
The Festival of Native Arts organization exists to create a 3-day celebration of Alaska Native dance and music and traditional and cultural arts to the Fairbanks community as well as to the University of Alaska, Fairbanks community. The Festival strives to enhance and revitalize Native dance, music and cultural expression. We believe that such activities open possibilities for increased understanding between Natives and Non-Natives as well as between different Native cultural groups.
