The University of Alaska Fairbanks Geophysical Institute is looking for Native Elders / Knowledge-Bearers to review stewardship projects students for cultural relevance and traditional knowledge that students from rural villages have completed. On Tuesday, April 26th, we will be transporting around 50 students to Fairbanks to present their projects and we would like Native Elders to review the projects. The event will begin at 5:00 p.m., April 26th. A judging sheet will be provided with items to look for and following the review, we will be holding a dinner and award ceremony, which all reviewers and participants are invited to attend. Please come and support Alaska’s rural students and make this trip memorable for them. If you have any questions or are interested in joining us that evening, please contact Emily Westbrook at the UAF Geophysical Institute at [email protected] or 907-474-5036. Thank you.
