CASTING NOTICE:
The Winter Bear Project is holding auditions in Anchorage on August 18th, 19th and 20th.
Roles are available for Alaskan Native and Caucasian actors and actresses ages 17 to 90 years.
The Winter Bear performs October 17th through the 23rd at the Wildberry Theater, during the AFN Conference in Anchorage. Roles may be double-cast in anticipation of touring this spring and throughout 2012.

Character Descriptions:
SIDNEY HUNTINGTON, 95, son of a Koyukon Athabascan mother and a white trader father. He’s been hunting, trapping, fishing, mining along the Koyukuk & Yukon rivers all his life.
MIRANDA HUNTINGTON, 32, Sidney’s granddaughter, a lawyer. Athabascan.
DUANE “SHADOW” DAVID, 17, a troubled Koyukon Athabascan youth.
VICTOR SAM, 40, former Village PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICER (VPSO). He’s always got a new get-rich-quick scheme. Athabascan
WOLVERINE, stocky, crass, prone to rages, boss of the Totem Animals.
WOLF, tall, lanky, used-up from the effort of surviving without a pack.
LYNX, phantom-like mistress of stealth. She can speak but chooses instead to sign in her own language. This is a non speaking but very importanta role.
RAVEN, a braggart and a con man. He sometimes speaks in riddles.
NOTE: For the characters of Lynx/Wolf/Wolverine/Raven: movement or dance background is desired, but not required.
