College Scholarship
Scholarship Outline: Tuition paid at the University of Alaska Anchorage for two consecutive terms (Fall 2010 and Spring 2011) with a maximum of 12 credits per term.
Eligibility: High school senior who participated in a Junior Achievement
program during middle school and/or high school. Program participation must have included at least one of the following: JA Company program, JA Economics, TITAN, JA Success Skills, Personal Finance, International Marketplace, Globe, Enterprise in Action, Personal Economics, Economics of Staying in School, JA Economics for Success or the Global Marketplace.
Desired degree focus in Business, International or Foreign Trade, Economics, Business Development or Business Administration.
Currently an Alaskan 12th grade student.
Grade point average: 2.8 or above
Application deadline: April 23, 2010
Application guidelines: Letter of recommendation submitted by Junior Achievement teacher and/or Junior Achievement volunteer (copy to accompany essay).
Official copy of high school transcripts.
Year, school, teacher, volunteer name and program in which applicant participated.
Written essay, double spaced, not to exceed 1000 words responding to the following question:
What DID JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT TEACH ME ABOUT Entrepeneurship and being prepared for the world of work.
Additional Criteria: Consideration will also be given to applicant for his or her awards, scholastic achievements, extra-curricular activities, and employment.
