Athabaskan Heritage Collection™
Spirit Keeper Series™
Support Doyon Foundation’s scholarship programs by purchasing a beautiful, wool
blanket from the Athabaskan Heritage Collection™ Spirit Keeper Series™.
The collection features four unique, wool blankets, each depicting traditional Alaska
Native stories shared by interior Alaska’s dominant Athabaskan clans – the Upper
clan or the Caribou People, the Lower clan known as the Copper People or People
of the Land, and the Middle clan or Water People. Only 1,000 blankets of each design
are produced.
The 64-inch by 80-inch, woolen blankets characterize Athabaskan oral tradition passed
from one generation to the next by tribal elders. The oral tradition is illustrated
by a commissioned Athabaskan artist and is then incorporated into the blanket design.
Pendleton Woolen Mills manufactures the blankets exclusively for the Doyon Foundation.
