Doyon Foundation hosted a virtual information session for individuals interested in applying for our new Mentor-Apprentice Program on April 14 on Zoom. During the virtual information session, we gave a brief overview of the program, walked through the application process, and answered questions. Watch a video recording of the presentation or download the information session presentation.

Through the Mentor-Apprentice Program, which is funded by a federal grant from the Administration for Native Americans (ANA), we are working to increase the number of people who can speak the Native languages of the Doyon region by pairing an interested learner (the apprentice) with a fluent speaker (the mentor). The program is open to all interested participants, with an emphasis on Doyon, Limited shareholders who wish to learn one of their region’s 10 Native languages.

We are currently accepting applications for the first program cohort. Applications are due by Friday, April 29, 2022, at 5 p.m. AKDT. Please note thatmentors and apprentices must apply together as one team. The application is available online at doyonfoundation.com/map.

If you are interested in applying to the program, but have questions, please view the presentation recording or download the presentation, or contact Lucy Miller at [email protected] or 907.459.2015.
